#006 You Down Wit’ AOC?

Posted: January 21, 2019 by Brian Johnston

At 29 years of age, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made history when she became the youngest woman elected to Congress, defeating an established Democrat, 'The King of Queens' Joseph Crowley, in the process. Arguably the second most polarizing figure in American politics, she has been called, '...the biggest star in the Democratic Party,' and '...the most dangerous person in America.' So who's right?

#005 – Considering Koko: A Discussion and Tribute

Posted: August 3, 2018 by The Proversation

Koko the gorilla was 46 years old when she passed on July 9th of 2018. While she was hailed by some experts for her 'mastery of sign language,' she was dismissed by others as little more than a clever parlor trick. But for most of us, Koko touched our lives by reminding us that perhaps we are closer to our primate relatives than we originally thought. Thanks for listening!

With the state of all that is going on in the world, Brian and I are pondering the definition and application of intelligence not only in general but in this great nation of ours. It seems more and more that people both misunderstand and misapply what we all need most right now, intelligence. Please accept our apologies for the audio quality, there were some technical difficulties, nothing too major and the problem has been corrected for future podcasts. Thank you for listening.

Posted: January 21, 2018 by The Proversation

If there’s one thing it seems you are not supposed to talk about in public, it’s POLITICS. It’s not for the dinner table. It’s not for parties. It’s not for the workplace. It’s not for social engagements. It’s not proper talk on a first date. It’s not proper talk on the 10,000th date. We are just not supposed to talk about politics anymore.

It wasn’t always the case in this great nation of ours. Before electronic media, debates were part of public discourse, and were often staged events that occurred in the Town Hall and people would attend for entertainment. Debate was encouraged.
