The economic crisis in Venezuela has created devastation and chaos, with the IMF projecting inflation rates hitting 10 million percent in 2019. The currency is so worthless that they no longer count it--they weigh it. In Venezuela today, a one-pound package of dry pasta costs a whole week's wages. We have the unique opportunity to save people's lives while politically 'flipping' a corrupt Communist government in our hemisphere with a legitimately-elected proponent of democracy in Juan Guaido. With a chance to do the right thing while strengthening our hand in the Western Hemisphere, could this crisis provide the impetus to create bipartisan legislation that breaks the American political logjam?Read Entire Article Comment On This Post
When we cast our gaze out upon the millions of stars visible in just our galaxy, it is compelling to believe that we live in a universe that is teeming with life. If this is the case, the question begs asking: WHERE IS EVERYONE? In this PROBING episode of The Proversation, we ponder our place in the universe, the challenges of interstellar travel, our space program, UFO's, aliens, the pyramids, and reasons it still feels awfully lonely over here.Read Entire Article Comment On This Post
At 29 years of age, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made history when she became the youngest woman elected to Congress, defeating an established Democrat, 'The King of Queens' Joseph Crowley, in the process. Arguably the second most polarizing figure in American politics, she has been called, '...the biggest star in the Democratic Party,' and '...the most dangerous person in America.' So who's right?Read Entire Article Comment On This Post
Koko the gorilla was 46 years old when she passed on July 9th of 2018. While she was hailed by some experts for her 'mastery of sign language,' she was dismissed by others as little more than a clever parlor trick. But for most of us, Koko touched our lives by reminding us that perhaps we are closer to our primate relatives than we originally thought. We hope you enjoy our tribute to Koko and encourage you to think about how you view the other thinking and feeling creatures around us. If you wish to donate or to learn more about Koko and the other intelligent animals achieving the ability to communicate with us, please visit The Gorilla Foundation at http://www.koko.org. This week has seen the cancellation of "Roseanne," the most popular show on television following a racist tweet from Roseanne Barr. At the same time, cable talk show host Samantha Bee comes under fire for calling Ivanka Trump a 'feckless cunt.' While sponsors have been quick to pull their ads, so far the show remains on the air. Is there a double standard at play and why do we care what celebrities say in the first place?Read Entire Article Comment On This Post

If there’s one thing it seems you are not supposed to talk about in public, it’s POLITICS. It’s not for the dinner table. It’s not for parties. It’s not for the workplace. It’s not for social engagements. It’s not proper talk on a first date. It’s not proper talk on the 10,000th date. We are just not supposed to talk about politics anymore.
It wasn’t always the case in this great nation of ours. Before electronic media, debates were part of public discourse, and were often staged events that occurred in the Town Hall and people would attend for entertainment. Debate was encouraged.Read Entire Article Comment On This Post
