#005 – Considering Koko: A Discussion and TributePosted: August 3, 2018
Koko the gorilla was 46 years old when she passed on July 9th of 2018. While she was hailed by some experts for her ‘mastery of sign language,’ she was dismissed by others as little more than a clever parlor trick. But for most of us, Koko touched our lives by reminding us that perhaps we are closer to our primate relatives than we originally thought. We hope you enjoy our tribute to Koko and encourage you to ponder how you view the other thinking and feeling creatures around us. If you wish to donate or to learn more about Koko and the other intelligent animals achieving the ability to communicate with us, please visit The Gorilla Foundation at http://www.koko.org. Thanks for listening!
